Daily Prompt: Your Time to Shine

Early bird, or night owl?

I am by nature an early bird, so being up before the coffee shop opens is regular. Ok except for those 24 hour ones,, which make it so easy to grab a coffee and muffin at 5am. There is something nice about being able to greet the day, then get a shower before all the hot water is gone. To be able to brew the coffee just the way you like it, instead of the great but not perfect way the love of your life makes it. If you decide to go out for breakfast, you beat the rush and actually get personal service at the café, instead of menu hitting the table, followed 45.7 seconds later by “What do you want?”. If you have to commute either the traffic is lighter, or you get a seat on the bus or train, try that at 8:30am. Getting to work with a few minutes to spare, allows you to ease your way in to the day, instead of rushing to look busy.

However there are nights where you stay up to go to a sporting event, then go for a snack afterwards. Late night movies can also be enjoyable, especially that movie the two of you call yours, even if it only comes on after midnight these days, and you have the dvd anyways. Then you need to stay up late to take that moonlight stroll with the love of your life, which usually means an even later night.

So call me the morning robin, with a night owl in the family tree.

See who else is wide awake or who’s snoring.

  1. Keith–My wife and grown children are all night owls. I was always the ONLY morning person. I get up at 5:30-6:00 a.m. on weekdays JUST so the first hour of the day is MINE (when I am at my best) before I have to start getting ready for work, and I am up by 7:00 a.m. on weekends. Here is my funny-captioned photo on the morning person vs. night person divide:

Thanks for the “likes” you’ve left on my blog! –John
