Sightseeing & detours on the path of enlightenment

500th Post a reflective look back, a new look, and what lies ahead.

Well this is my 500th post, so I think it’s an appropriate time to look back, make some long thought about changes, and then set some goals for the future. First of all sorry for not posting the last few days, when I noticed this milestone was fast approaching, I decided I wanted it to be memorable. So with out further ado.

I hope you like the new Blog name, and tagline. Also I added a header, which I cropped from a picture some of you liked. Finally I changed the names of my two other pages, to clarify what they are about. This is partly from my reading up on S.E.O. more on this soon.

After 500 posts, my most viewed post was one I wrote tongue in cheek one day when I had a bad case of blogger’s block. Some of you, who have been reading my ramblings for a while will remember “How not to be Freshly Pressed”. Since I posted my poke at Freshly Pressed, this post has climbed to over 255 views as of this writing. Today it has already attracted 4 viewers.  So be careful of what you write, as it may become your defining post, or your most viewed post. 😀  For those who are curious; https://keiththegreen.wordpress.com/2012/08/30/how-not-to-be-freshly-pressed/

Along the way I met some great people who just happen to blog here, and I would mention names, however I would either have to list all those I follow, or possibly miss someone, so to all of you thank you for your posts, your likes, your comments, but most of all for stopping by to read my thoughts.

I have enjoyed learning new recipes, some of which I would never have thought of looking for, let alone trying. Found out that the generation gap is really only a bunch of numbers, for those Gen X & Gen Y‘s I follow seem to have the same concerns, I did when I was their age.  Also we still share many of them now, how to make something meaningful with our life, how to be kind and helpful to others, how to keep the world from becoming a toxic cesspool.  So to all those younger bloggers, I’ll let you in on a secret, that Ponce de Leon searched for in vain, the elixir of youth.  It’s reading your blogs, keeps me up to date on current topics, and young at heart, and strengthens my desire to keep learning about life. It’s never forgetting we have one life, that keeps moving forward. So learn from the past,  create a present that you and others would find exhilerating, growing and inclusive. Finally when making decisions, consider what the repurussions might be, then make the choice that means the least amount of suffering for all. No choice we make will please everone, so make the best choice, and the one that minimizes suffering.

As to the future, I will get back to blogging several times per week. Also more environmentally awareness posts, are coming. I’ll continue to share photos for the weekly challenge. All of this fom my perspective, from someplace along the path to enlightenment. So thanks for walking with me, I look forward to all of us sharing more knowledge, entertainment and adventure in the future.

Finally a few posts I am working on:

Vancouver vs Edmonton, who is the greenest city today?

S.E.O. you’ve seen it in your spam box, what is it is it useful?

The final parts of my explanation of the Heart Sutra.
