Weekly Photo Challenge: Foreign

Vancouver makes this an easy one to accomplish without travelling.

The first picture is one of the 32 Terracotta style warriors that were on display  in Vancouver, Canada during 2012. These were done in the style of the Terracotta  Warriors in China, and decorated by artists. The statues were then auctioned off to provide funds for charitable purposes.

This next picture is from Vancouver’s historic Chinatown district. It features Lao Tzu who was one of the founders of Taoism in China.

Finally a picture from the Royal Thai Consular General’s showcase fair held in Richmond, BC, Canada in 2011.

Multiculturalism is a cornerstone of Canadian society. The foreign becomes familiar to us, we can travel the world with out leaving home, or it can inspire us to go and experience the world.
