Book review: Becoming Enlightened
I just finished reading this gem written by H.H. The Dalai Lama, translated and edited by Jeffery Hopkins. PH.D. Drawing predominately from the Tibetan school of Buddhism the Dalai Lama lays out a clear concise method for those who seek enlightenment. He makes a clear case that we are responsible regardless of our religious path, for showing compassion to all beings. Gives a framework that identifies Buddhist beliefs in a manner that allows us to start working on our own thoughts. He give practical instructions on how to begin practicing Buddhism, and what to look for in a Teacher or Guru. He then gives us an introduction to the middle and advanced practice levels. If you have questions about Buddhism, regardless of the school you follow this book will light your path.
