Sightseeing & detours on the path of enlightenment

Thank you to my teachers, may you always be my teachers.

It’s been a while since I wrote a thank you post. If you watch most award shows, you hear a list of names, followed by and any I have missed. If you are looking for names, I’m sorry to disappoint you. I have had many lessons in the last year, all have been equally valuable. If knowledge can be considered like a teapot, and each lesson adds like a drop of water, who can say which drop is worth the most. We could possibly identify when the teapot becomes full, but even that last drop has merged with all the preceding ones. Not all my teachers have been human this year, for I can think of three incidents where I learned a valuable lesson from an animal. A friend’s cat who even after a long absence still gave me, a warm greeting, and only asked for a hoped for a few scratches under her chin in return. To the pigeon that reminded me that into every life, a little shit must fall. Finally to the eagle who circled over the river for what seemed an eternity, to suddenly swoop down and catch it’s meal, I learned to be patient. To my fellow humans, I have too many to thank, from friends, bloggers, strangers who I met briefly, and many others, thank you for the wisdom you graciously imparted to me.
