Merit by Meditation
The development of merit through mediation is one that is available to all, regardless of economic status, geographic location or any other differentiation. Meditations aimed at developing a peaceful or tranquil mind, as well as meditations to develop insight are equally effective. As both lead to the development of wisdom, and a trained mind, the person meditating is walking on the path to Nirvana. By training our mind to think good thoughts, produce truthful speech, we will make more virtuous actions. He who is mentally focused, will see things according to reality, or without delusions. By practising mediations that lead to virtue, we reduce the volitions we suffer, leading to a happy life, contentment, and a better rebirth.
