Compassion or others happiness, not ours
“We must keep in mind the happiness of others, not our own. Most of all, we should wish well especially to those we consider our enemies who ar ill-treating us. What else should possibly be the meaning of compassion?” Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche
Reading this statement on compassion, truly defines the act. For it is easy to show compassion on those we love, or those who do as we ask. It is when we can show the same level of compassion to those who have hurt us, and then to those in the process of doing us harm, have we begun to practice compassion as the Buddha taught.
