No time for meditation
So you have decided to be serious about meditation and set 30 minutes per day as your goal. However finding 30 minutes seems impossible. Yes life today is hectic, and it seems to be getting more so every day. First examine your day, to see if a different time of the day, might make it easier to schedule a block of time. For example if mornings are impossible, perhaps after work or even just before bed would work better. If this still does not work perhaps try every second day to begin with. Another alternative is to shorten your time to 15 or 20 minutes. It is not as effective as 30 minutes; however you will still begin to benefit, from these shorter periods. The important thing is that you begin to meditate on a regular basis. Once you have begun, you will find your mind become clearer, less scattered over time. This will help you prioritize other parts of your life, and perhaps soon you will have the 30 minutes. During the work week I try for a minimum of 20 minutes per day and 30 minutes on Saturday and Sunday. Also besides seated silent meditation, there is walking and chanting meditations. Please remember there is no driving meditation, as driving is one of those times you need to concentrate on what you are doing.
