Science and Buddhism
The book (A Scientist’s Report on the study of Buddhist Scriptures) I mentioned yesterday is proving a valuable resource. Wang Chi Biu writing with translation by P. H. Wei. In the first chapter he lists 3 reasons that prompted him to study Buddhist Scriptures. They are close enough to mine that I feel this book was written for me. Are they tenants of Buddhism scientifically compatible, useful today, and give a benefit. He then tells us which Sutra’s he researched, followed by describing his methodology. In chapter 5 he uses a teacup to illustrate the Three aspects of all material things, in a way that is easy to understand. That he does it in a scientific manner adds weight.
