Causes and conditions
“All the physical and material phenomena of the world are brought by the combination of causes and conditions.” At wheat plant produces seed. Seed should produce life. However if the seed is harvested, and ground into flour, it will provide food or energy to sustain life instead. If the seed falls onto unfertile ground it may instead decompose, and provide the basic nutrients in the future to produce life. If the seed falls unto fertile soil, receives sunshine, moisture, nutrients in the proper balance and correct times it will produce a new wheat plant and start the cycle over. The seed is the cause, the rest are the conditions, that will determine what happens. Change any condition and the outcome changes. scientifically this would be described as a process, and if we change the process the result will change. Buddhists would say it is that form is void. If we accept the scientific aspect, we can accept the Buddhist view as well.
