Smart purchases = a better planet
How many of us hop into our car to travel a couple blocks to pick up an item from the store. The average person walks about a pace of approximately 5km/hour. If you count the time to get your vehicle out of the garage or parkade, find a parking spot then the time to park when arriving home, you may find you’re not really saving much time, compared to just walking instead. Plus if you’re like a lot of us in today’s modern society, a little more exercise would be beneficial. Also walking means you’re more likely not to pick up those extra impulse items from the store. The ones the grocer places where you will be tempted. This will reduce your grocery budget somewhat. Plus if you look at most impulse purchases they really aren’t the best choices nutritionally, so your diet will improve. All from a simple act of leaving the car at home, when going to the corner store. If your children ask why you are doing this, you can always tell them you are trying to leave them a healthy place to live.
