Noble Eightfold path leads to Wisdom
If we practice the Noble Eightfold Path, according to the Mahacattarisaka Sutta we will develop right knowledge and right liberation, collectively known as wisdom. Notice it requires not just study and knowledge of the path, but applying it in our daily lives, that is required. Modern psychology would term this as attempting to change our behaviour though changing our thoughts. Buddhism has for 2600 years acknowledged the connection between conception, volition and actions. We have the thought, we decide to act on the conception, and we implement the idea. So modern medicine has caught up to the notion that if we change how we think, we will change how we view the world, and how we react to external forces. If you are a person who sees a glass as half empty, every time you think this way, correct yourself, ans say no it is half full. One day you will notice that half full is how you conceive the glass.
