A wise teacher who was not a Buddhist, Lao Tsu
“It takes knowledge to understand others, but it needs a clear mind to know one self. It takes strength to surpass others, but it requires a strong will to surpass oneself.” Lao Tsu wrote these words 2600 years ago. Lao Tsu is considered a central figure of Taoism. If we can take an honest look at ourselves, then diligently work, we can improve ourselves. No one else can do this for us. Not other people or any external power, rather diligence at working on our flaws, in an open constructive manner. We can’t change others, but if what we do results in self improvement, others may decide what we have done has merit. This blog will help me define in a clear manner what I need to work on, in my life.
