Possiblities and happiness.

I watched The Pursuit of Happyness with Will Smith the other day, and this scene reminded me about pursuing our dreams. Here are ten quotes to inspire and encourage us today.

What will you accomplish today?

“Start by doing what’s necessary; then do what’s possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.” - St. Francis of Assisi

If we did all the things we are capable of doing, we would literally astonish ourselves. Thomas Alva Edison

“The limits of the possible can only be defined by going beyond them into the impossible.” - Arthur C. Clarke

“Whether you believe you can or not, you’re right.” - Henry Ford

“You and I are essentially infinite choice-makers. In every moment of our existence, we are in that field of all possibilities where we have access to an infinity of choices.” - Deepak Chopra

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.” - Albert Einstein

“Until you’re ready to look foolish, you’ll never have the possibility of being great.” - Cher

We  are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy  follows like a shadow that never leaves. – The Buddha

“Few things are impossible to diligence and skill. Great works are performed, not by strength, but perseverance.” - Samuel Johnson

“Just do it” – Nike

So what impossible thing will you carry out today?

Daily Prompt: Million-Dollar Question

Why do you blog?

There are many reasons why I blog. As you read, I have included links to just a few of the many fine bloggers I have had the pleasure of meeting here. My apologies to all my friends who I didn’t include today, besides keeping this post brief, it might also be you haven’t posted recently.

First its a social medium, consisting of amateurs and professionals. It allows me to gain insight from the blogger, writing from the crapper in the outback, to the gnome hiding in the mountains. Oh wait, now you want to know who I’m referring to, well just head on over to that widget in the lower right on my blog, the one that says community. Yup community, it’s the main reason I blog. From learning the inner working’s of an evil nymph’s mind, to a declaration of who someone is, to visiting a kingdom, and then off to see what’s for lunch. Of course when your middle aged it helps to understand that generation following us, or see how someone handles living in a different country. Then there’s the day when you want a deeper understanding of something, or just a reflective view of something many people take for granted. Sometimes you just want someone to share coffee with, or a slice of  Tiramisu. Then there’s the day when you just feel like a deer dazzled by the oncoming headlights.

Plus there’s the getting my view out there, such as my other post today, in reaction to current events. So the reasons may vary, but blogging is expression and after all is said and done, that’s just life.

For a lot more wealth, $1,000,000@ a time

A Thank you

This post is to say thanks to a fellow blogger who chose my post on Earth hour as her pick of the week last Friday. Diana writes her blog from a personal viewpoint, that shows her deep caring for others. She says she relates with, promotes and speaks community. I would simply say she is a community builder. Three days you should check her blog are Sunday, Wednesday and Friday. Sunday she shares an inspirational quote, Wednesday’s she gives us a nudge into the second half of the week. Ok maybe some Wednesdays she pushes us over the hill, then has the nerve to let go. Friday she highlights a blog, she picks as one of her favorites.

She has worked with the disadvantaged in society, and from the way she writes you can see her personality. She is one of us, she isn’t out front yelling follow me. Nope she’s the type that leads from the back. If something needs to be said, she will quote others and add her thoughts. If something needs to be done, she puts her shoulder into it, and starts pushing, till things start to move, then she makes sure everybody is working together. Her posts will cause you to laugh, to ponder, perhaps even say I don’t agree with her. However throughout all her posts, she does it with a style that says let’s do it together.

So if you haven’t checked out here blog, here’s the link: Talk to Diana and I hope you enjoy visiting her blog as much as I do.
