Daily Prompt: Shoulda Woulda Coulda
Tell us about something you know you should do . . . but don’t.
This is a timely prompt, as I have for years been dabbling at getting back into the shape I was in High School. For those of you who haven’t read my about page, Abba was still together when I was in High School. I’m with in three kgs of my graduating weight, of 90kg. I also was offered the opportunity to run in either a 5km or 10km charity marathon to help raise money, as I used to run marathon’s back in high school. So I’m off to the Y this afternoon, to start training for this. Yup mark the date on the calendar, as it will either be the start of something, or the end of it all. So tomorrow I’ll post my first weekly update on my progress, and a picture of me, lumpy and out of shape. This from the guy who has steadfastly refused to go to the gym, rather incorporating fitness into my daily lifestyle. Such as walk up three flights of stairs or down four flights, instead of using the stair master. Walking to and from the grocery store, instead of using a tread mill. So join me for the adventure, or the laughter. However been forewarned, I reserve the right to challenge all who are younger than me, to equal or beat my time on the run.

Good luck! I was thinking about replying to this prompt with: “go running more.” But, at the same time, I know that if I really wanted to go running more, I would. As I do every year when it is time to start gearing up for the summer’s backpacking trip.
Take it from someone older, and wiser(for having done it the hard way) stay in good shape now, it will make it easier as you age.
