Daily Prompt: 32 Flavors
Vanilla, chocolate, or something else entirely?
Looking at this topic, I find that the suggested flavors don’t have any taste appeal. Vanilla, not French vanilla, or vanilla bean, just plain vanilla. Chocolate, not double chocolate, dark chocolate, black forest chocolate, or chocolate with chocolate chips. Yes I’m one of those, the type that expects choice when I walk into an ice cream shop, perhaps because growing up I was blessed to have parents who knew of an ice cream shop that had 101 flavors. For those who are old enough think back to the 60s, and 70s, remember such flavours as grasshopper, coffee, cheesecake, bumble bee, tiger tiger, bubblegum, and the list went on. So for me it’s about which flavor, goes best with the meal, or the mood. Then theres the walks along the beach with someone special, where you get a double scoop, with her favorite and yours, and take turns licking the cone, and remembering to watch your fingers as she grabs the last part of the cone. But for today, I’ll choose durian as the flavor of the day, any takers?

Durian, thats the really smelly fruit. Never dared tried it when we were in Malaysia. But everyone has a choice.
Once you get past the smell, you have it licked!
Also once it’s frozen the smell is gone, but the delicious flavor is like no other.
If you buy some that has been frozen, the odor will barely be noticable.
Ah, the ONE thing Andrew Zimmern can’t/won’t eat.
Have you seen the episode where he tempts a staff member to try it?
I am definitely NOT with you…I literally close the door of my room and evacuate the house when I see my mom opening it up. But hey, whatever you like. My best friend is also a lover of durian
So to each their own.
It’s fine that you don’t like durian, if everyone on the planet loved it, then we would all only get a taste every year. We all have different tastes in food, and they change over the years. It is more important that you enjoy what you eat, than to eat particular foods.
